Antoni Muntadas is a postconceptual multimedia artist who has been based in New York since 1971. His diverse body of work spans photography, video, text and image publications, the Internet, installations, and urban interventions. Muntadas's art critically engages with social, political, and communications issues globally, exploring themes such as the relationship between public and private spaces within social contexts and the manipulation of information channels for censorship or dissemination of ideas.

Key concepts in Muntadas's work include "media landscape," which critiques the pervasive presence of mass media, advertising, and audiovisual materials in public spaces, and "critical subjectivity," addressing modes of perception, thought, and subject formation in contemporary society.

His projects have been exhibited in major museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Berkeley Art Museum in California, the Musée Contemporain de Montréal, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires, the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro, the Musée Jeu de Paume in Paris, and the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona. Muntadas's works have also been featured in significant international events such as Documenta Kassel, the Whitney Biennial of American Art, the Venice Biennale, and exhibitions in São Paulo, Lyon, Taipei, Gwangju, Istanbul, and Havana.

One of his notable series, "Meetings," employs silk screens to depict discussion spaces related to consumer strategies, marketing campaigns, and corporate activities, highlighting economic aspects of translation within his artistic framework.

Muntadas continues to contribute significantly to contemporary art discourse through his innovative use of multimedia and critical examination of societal structures and media landscapes.
